Medlas is built by the community it serves. Whether you're a student who wants to represent your institution or a doctor who wants to give back — there's a role for you.
Founding regional leads
One spot per institution. Open to medical students and junior doctors globally — we want people who genuinely care about their peers, not just their CV.
Spread the word — share Medlas in your year group chats, med soc, and specialty societies once a month
Gather real insight — a short monthly check-in on what students at your institution are struggling with most
Scout mentors — identify lecturers, junior doctors, or senior students with research experience who might want to get involved
Applications reviewed within a few days. One spot per institution — apply early.
Thank you for applying. We'll review your application and be in touch within a few days. If your institution spot is open, we'll get you set up as a founding Medlas regional lead.
Mentors
We're looking for junior doctors, senior students, and clinicians with research experience who want to give back — without it taking over their life.
Sit in a research group — a small group of students matched by specialty interest and goal
Unstick students — answer questions, keep the group moving, stop projects from stalling
Share your experience — you don't need to be a professor. A junior doctor who's done one audit or case report has exactly what students need
No minimum experience required beyond having done some research yourself. All specialties and stages of training welcome.
Thank you for wanting to mentor. We'll be in touch soon to get you set up. Your experience — however much or little — is exactly what students need.
Careers at Medlas
We are a small team at an early stage. These are voluntary roles for now — but you will get genuine experience, real responsibility, and a founding team credit on something that is growing.
Create and manage content across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Build the Medlas brand with the medical student community. Strong understanding of medical student culture and what resonates with that audience.
Help build and improve the Medlas website and web app. Work on the portfolio tracker, community features, and AI tool integrations. Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or React. We are a no-judgment environment — all skill levels considered.
Design UI components, marketing graphics, guide templates, and poster layouts. Help maintain a consistent visual identity across the platform. Figma or equivalent experience preferred.
Write blog posts, research guides, and educational content for medical students. You should be a medical student or junior doctor yourself — we write from experience, not theory. Strong written English and the ability to make complex things simple.
